NO PAUSE IN THE WAR ON
TERROR AS TEMPERATURES DROP
Our troops fighting in Afghanistan had a tough year in 2009 with casualties getting higher. The war in Afghanistan has intensified, and too many restrictions our being put on our troops to make matters worse. This coming year will be a tough one for our troops fighting the terrorists there, and our troops need our support!
Winter in Afghanistan is as unforgiving as the hot summers in Iraq. The mountainous regions where are troops are fighting the Taliban near the Pakistani border are rocky and hostile terrain where temperatures often drop below freezing and the snow covers the earth. Our brave troops will be fighting the cold even as they continue to fight and beat back the Taliban and their Al Qaeda allies.
This the time to show our troops that the American people are behind them – despite some of the nonsense they see and hear from some of our politicians. Can you sponsor a package of goodies – hot chocolate, coffee, jelly bellies, cookies and other treats now?
“Afghanistan’s high mountains and harsh weather once meant that winter was a respite from much of the war’s violence, but as the deaths of six Western soldiers in three separate attacks on Monday show, this winter is proving to be different.
American military leaders and Taliban commanders are vowing to carry the fight to each other and skip the traditional winter vacation, and there is every sign that they are doing just that.
Though the trend has been building, in past years, the Taliban generally slipped off to sanctuaries in Pakistan, or just stayed home, while NATO forces enjoyed a drop in attacks and a steep decline in the body count from December through March.”

Our troops are braving the harsh winters to pursue America’s enemies.

Your Care package donations make a difference! You may remember a few months ago MAF had a special project called ANSWER THE CALL where we sent care packages to a special unit in Afghanistan! This is the unit on the Pakistan border that is taking the brunt of attacks from the terrorists.
