More explosives or suspicious devices found at Marine Corps recruiting staions.
SYNOPSIS:
Suspicious Device Discovered at Marine Recruiting Office in Salem Salem-News.com This is not the first time in recent months that police have been called out the the Marine Recruiting office on Lancaster, a sign on the building was damaged by grafitti late last year. (SALEM) - Marion County Sheriff's deputies responded to a report of a suspicious device at the Marine Corps Recruiting Office Saturday morning at 4:20 AM The recruiting office is located at 3060 Lancaster Dr NE in Salem, Oregon. Don Sweet with the Sheriff's Office says officers arriving on the scene found the suspicious device at the front of the building. "Lancaster Drive NE was closed and local access in the area was restricted for safety reasons. Marion County Sheriff’s Office and Oregon State Police Bomb Squad personnel responded." Sweet says a remote controlled robot was used to safely approach and then move the device to a safe location where it was rendered safe. "Officers collected evidence found at the scene, which will be submitted for processing. At this point the investigation is continuing and there is no present suspect information known."
